What do you serve a visiting chorus from Sweet Adelines? More sweetness of course!
Seaside A Cappella (SAC) treated Pacific Edge chorus to an afternoon dessert party on June 25 in one of Mahone Bay’s beautiful churches. Visiting from Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Pacific Edge was on a multistop tour of the Maritimes.
“This was an event that is nearly impossible to describe,” said SAC Director Judy Comeau. “It was just so full of warm sisterhood, wonderful singing, and yes, very good food. We just connected with them in so many ways. And, boy can they sing!!!”
Despite a somewhat imbalanced selection of voices on hand—“a double quartet with a bunch of leads”—SAC taught the visitors a song that the combined choruses sang together, and Pacific Edge did the same.
SAC greeters handed out little packets to the visitors with NS pins and a tartan heart, and everyone raved about the delicious rhubarb squares prepared by chorus members.
